This fall, Nicolas Ghesquière is celebrating ten years at Louis Vuitton. Since he started, fans have loved what he’s done with the brand. They’re bringing back one of his old designs, the GO-14 bag, along with other classics like the Capucines, Twist, and Dauphine.
The GO-14 bag first appeared in Spring 2015, and now Ghesquière is giving it a new look. It combines Louis Vuitton’s old style with something modern. The bag’s special LV Twist lock and quilted design remind us of the old Louis Vuitton trunks. They call this kind of quilting malletage.
Louis Vuitton is always trying new things, and the new GO-14 bags show that. Craftspeople hand-apply a special “toasted effect” finish to soft lambskin leather, giving it its unique texture. It gives the bag a unique, fancy feel.
The LV Twist lock is a big part of the bag, and it comes with a top handle and adjustable chain. You can take both handles off, so you can wear them separately or together. Inside, there’s a zip pocket and a flat pocket with a mirror. This season, they’re also introducing the Pico GO-14, a smaller version with a crossbody chain strap. The GO-14 shows off Louis Vuitton’s past and the skills of their craftspeople. It’s a beautiful bag that you can dress up or down.
